We have experienced another hot summer full of 100+ Degree days and little rainfall. Because of this both Travis and Williamson County and now re-instated the outdoor burn ban. Growing safety concerns over really dry conditions as well as recent fires in our Central Texas area lead to the burn ban for the two counties. According to the counties, the burn ban prohibits the burning of household yard waste, such as leaves, grass, brush and other yard trimmings. It also prohibits burning to clear land of trees, stumps, shrubbery, or other natural vegetation. This ban of course effects all of our Austin area HOA communities and their common area parks, wildlife refuge, greenbelt, and other vegetation areas. We are working closely with all of our community leaders to ensure they are no high risk areas within the Home Owners association. We all remember the Bastrop fires from last year that caused millions of dollars of property damage and left many people scrambling for a place to call home. We have made available for download the “Ready, Set, GO” Wildland Fire Safety guide. Inside the guide you will find detailed safety tips for you as a homeowner to help keep your property and most importantly your family safe. You can download the safety guide by clicking here.
